Writing Program SGA Preference Form, Fall 2025

  • Your Information

Please complete this form and return it by June 16, 2025. We cannot accommodate late requests.
  • Please note: - First-year doctoral students will typically work in the Writing Center or a department-affiliated research center in the fall while completing ENGL 7392 Writing and the Teaching of Writing. In spring, first-year doctoral students will typically teach one undergraduate writing course. - 2nd-year and beyond doctoral students within their funding window will typically teach one course in the fall and one course in the spring.

For students interested in tutoring in the Writing Center instead of teaching, the Writing Center will have up to 7 openings each semester for tutoring appointments of 10-20 hours per week. Tutoring begins on the first day of classes and runs through the end of the undergraduate finals period. Tutors will have a mix of in-person and online shifts (it is not possible to be fully remote in this role). If you have any Writing Center questions, please contact Laura Beerits (l.beerits@northeastern.edu) in advance of the form submission deadline.
