Steven Pedigo
Professor of the Practice
School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs
Steven Pedigo is a Professor of Practice at Northeastern University’s School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, where he teaches urban policy, economic development, and public sector consulting.
He is also the co-founder and partner of CivicSol, a public strategy firm that helps cities and regions make the consequential choices that shape how they grow and compete. He has advised more than 125 cities, regions, and public agencies over two decades, grounded in the belief that lasting progress is built with communities, not to them.
His writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Boston Globe, and the Dallas Morning News.
Before joining Northeastern, he was Assistant Dean and Professor of Practice at The University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ School of Public Affairs, where he founded the LBJ Urban Lab. He was previously a clinical professor at New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate, where he established the NYU Urban Lab.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
