Chris Parsons, Assistant Professor of History at Northeastern, was recently featured in an article entitled “French Colonists Didn’t Just Carry Muskets – They Wore Gardening Gloves” by News@Northeastern. In this article, he talks about his recent book “A Not-So-New World: Empire and Environment in French Colonial North America” and how Samuel de Champlain attempted to domesticate wild indigenous plants upon his arrival in Canada to compare to what was grown back in France.
