Co-op Reflection: Kylie Schreck

Wilmer Hale Office View

“I was really lucky to be in an environment where everyone wanted to help out and talk to you candidly about their experience in law school and at the firm. I got a lot of great insight into the process of applying to law school and getting a law degree.

Kylie Schreck, Human Services Major

Co-op Term: Spring 2020
Position: Public Service Department Co-op
Employer: Wilmer Hale in Boston, MA

Kylie Schreck completed her second co-op in the Public Service department of Wilmer Hale. She applied with the hope of gaining field experience unsure if her post-graduation plans included attending law school. In this position, Schreck connected with different lawyers and staff that introduced her to possible career paths and experiences for the future.

Working closely with her boss, Schreck was given a lot of responsibility, honing her skills in event planning and project management. Her most exciting professional opportunity while there was shadowing two lawyers for a day. Schreck gained insight to the entire legal process and learned about the nonprofits supporting these programs. She hopes to focus her career in social responsibility work, incorporating grassroot principles in a larger corporate setting.
