Martha Durkee-Neuman was honored because of her outstanding achievements in impact on the campus community, service, global engagement, leadership, innovative spirit, and commitment to the ideals and values of Northeastern.
Durkee-Neuman has taken advantage of Northeastern’s experiential learning opportunities to pursue her interest in social justice. She has worked at Oxfam America, CODEPINK: Women for Peace, and the Crossroads Family Shelter. On campus, she co-founded the Northeastern Unitarian Universalists student organization, served on the Executive Board of the Northeastern Interfaith Council, and worked as an outreach coordinator for the Sexual Assault Response Campaign.
