Facets of a Bright Energy Future: A 360 degree perspective
Energy Systems Society (ESS) is an academic student group associated with the Masters of Science in Energy Systems program at Northeastern University. Though closely related the program, ESS welcomes involvement from everyone who is interested in taking a more active role in energy, sustainability, and environmental issues. Group’s leadership works to organize seminars, discussions, educational forums and other activities to give the student body an opportunity to extend their learnings and outside classroom experience. The group also serves as a valuable platform throughout Boston, New England, and beyond.
Activities of the group allow members to remain connected with one another, gain knowledge of various energy industries, and promote continued education within the energy community.
The mission of ESS is to bridge the gap between industry and academia, as well as development and sustainability. Associated with the Energy Systems Graduate Program, the group aims to align with the interdisciplinary pillars of sustainability: Engineering, Business, and Policy. This is done by organizing seminars, educational visits to R&D, commercial and industrial facilities, workshops and other activities that give the students an opportunity to extend their knowledge and out-of-classroom experience
