Human Services Prof. Matt Lee recently conducted a workshop for clinicians at UMass Medical Center on encouraging empathic conversations about racial identity with patients, improving racially competent supervision, and racial advocacy in clinical settings. Improved communication with racial minority patients and supervisors will help providers better identify and talk about health disparities based on race and ethnicity.
