Professor Laurel Leff publishes in Haaretz.

Laurel Leff, Professor of Journalism, and core faculty in Jewish Studies, recently published this article in Haaretz. In it, she argues that most American media coverage of the origins of the Palestinian refugees in Gaza ignores the context of the creation of the State of Israel in the aftermath of the Holocaust. Understanding that most of the citizens of Israel at its creation in 1948 were refugees themselves, forces important changes to the narrative currently standard in American media.
