Jeffrey Lamson

PhD in History

Jeffrey Lamson is a doctoral student in World History at Northeastern University. He holds an MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in History from Colby College, where his senior thesis drew on the National Archives in Santiago, Chile to explore the history of their national police. His current research explores the history of police in both the United States and Latin America. Jeff is working a research assistant for Dr. Natasha Frost conducting correction officer interviews and coding data on prison violence.

Research interests: I’m interested in the relationship between Latin American citizens and their police officers and policing institutions during the middle of the twentieth century. I’m also interested in exploring transnational security cooperation within Latin America, and between Latin America and the United States.
