Jeffrey Lamson

PhD in World History

Jeff is a PhD candidate in World History and holds an MA in education from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on the history of technology as it relates to 20th century police reform in the United States and the world. His dissertation considers the relationship between patrol cars, urban police reform, and U.S. counterinsurgency in Latin America between 1930 and 1980. This project has received support from the Humanities Center as well as the Brudnick Center on Violence and Conflict at Northeastern. His scholarship has been featured in The Washington Post and Jacobin.
