Josh Duty

American Sign Language–English Interpreting, BS

Graduated in 2020

Hi everyone! My name is Josh Duty and I am an alum of the ASL–English Interpreting Program. I grew up about 45 minutes south of Boston in Duxbury, Massachusetts. This is where I was introduced to my first American Sign Language class (ASL). ASL quickly became a huge passion of mine. I declared my major in 2016 and since then, I’ve been growing as a person, a second language user of ASL, and improving my interpreting skills. The staff, faculty, and other students in this program are extremely supportive and encouraging; the ASL Office truly feels like a second home. My goals after graduation include obtaining certification and eventually go on to work in a medical setting, as a professional interpreter, here in Boston.
