Sarah was captivated by Northeastern’s array of international programs and opportunities to globalize her education. As a Human Services major graduating summa cum laude, her degree has equipped her with a diverse skill set and invaluable experiences, empowering her to enter the workforce with confidence and make a significant difference in people’s lives.
“Getting my undergraduate degree at CSSH allowed me to explore my many interests. Learning about things like epidemiology, mental health, and the landscape of social services provided me with a foundation of knowledge that has set me up to be successful working in public health. These classes and experiences were invaluable to me, and I use the knowledge I gained daily in my current work as an HIV and STI testing counselor.”
Sarah currently works as a Prevention Navigator at GMHC, a community based AIDS service and health organization, in New York City. In this position, she provides HIV and STI testing services for a diverse population. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in public health.
