Faviana Olivier and Mya Poe Receive CSSH Outstanding Teaching Awards

Mya Poe and Faviana Olivier were named as recipients of Outstanding Teaching Awards for 2015/16 by the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. We are proud to have such superb teaching in English!

The following statements are from the award announcement:

Outstanding Teaching Award: Tenured/Tenure-Track: Mya Poe, Department of English. With this award, the committee recognizes Professor Poe’s student-centered approach to teaching writing; the high bar she sets for student learning; and her commitment to teaching and scholarship as social justice projects.

Outstanding Teaching Award: Part-time: Faviana Olivier, Department of English/Writing Program. With this award, the committee recognizes Ms. Olivier’s interesting and creative course materials; her ability to inspire her students as writers and learners; and her concern for her students’ emotional and intellectual engagement.
