Faviana Olivier
Part-Time Lecturer in English
Faviana Olivier has several Certifications in Teaching Business ESL [English as a Second Language] and International Marketing. Her academic interests lie in the area of teaching Advanced Writing to enhance students’ intercultural communication. She has collaborated with Northeastern’s College of Professional Studies, designing and teaching programs in Business Cases for pre-MBA international students as well as training faculty as the course expanded.
Faviana has participated in workshops for Northeastern’s PEJI Conference [Plain English Jury Instructions] and The Pre-Law Scholars Association. For Bentley University she was part of their Annual Women’s Conference and their Women’s Leadership Institute. She has been featured in the Huffington Post’s “Nominating 40-something Women” and Northeastern University’s Iris Faculty Exchange Newsletter: “The Global Classroom”. She received an Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Award in 2016.
She is the only woman on the Audi Club’s North Atlantic Board of Directors, an active member of The Boston Club and The International Alliance; ACFE [Association of Certified Fraud Examiners] for which she is studying for her Certification.

Advanced Writing for Prelaw
ENGW 3311
Introduces students to legal reasoning and to the contexts, purposes, genres, audiences, and styles of legal writing. Emphasizes the role of writing and argument in U.S. legal culture. Using strategies drawn from rhetorical theory and criticism, students examine briefs, memoranda, opinions, and other legal texts to identify and describe techniques of analysis and persuasion. In a workshop setting, offers students an opportunity to evaluate a wide variety of sources and develop expertise in audience analysis, critical research, peer review, and revision.
