Associate Director for Civic Research

Kim is an academic-practitioner who is committed to community-driven civic research, innovation in city-university collaborations, and leveraging our collective expertise for the social good. Before coming to BARI, Kim was Interim Executive Director of MetroLab Network and has also served as Open Data Manager at the Department of Innovative Technology and Director of Civic Research at the Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics, both with the City of Boston. Kim joined BARI because it is “fun” and to grow her work in civic research agendas. She hopes to create and support civic research collaboration between community organizations, local government, and higher education through her work with BARI. When she’s not working, Kim is spending time with her two pups, Ouaffles and Noodle.

Community Relations and Programs Manager

Ann manages communications and operations for the annual BARI Conference, conducts outreach to build partnerships, and provides support to the various research and community-based research projects. She joined BARI with hopes of building stronger two-way communication and relationships between researchers and community members so they can work together to address challenges facing the city. Before coming to BARI, Ann raised two kids who are now young adults, co-founded and led an educational non-profit, and worked as Chief of Staff for a Boston City Councilor who chaired the Committee on Education. Outside of work, Ann coaches youth softball in Dorchester and loves open water swimming.

Program Manager for Public Education

A local to the Boston area, Greg joined BARI after working in education and as an urban planner. He was eager to learn more about the human stories behind the data and theory of urban planning, community development, and policy development. He leads BARI’s educational programs for high school students, including the spring workshop and summer internship programs known as “What The Tech?” and always has other projects waiting in the wings. Outside of his time with BARI, Greg enjoys photography, speaks Spanish, and knows American Sign Language.
