Common SENSES Project Trains Community Data Observers

Members of the community completed training to become the first cohort of Community Data Observers for the Common SENSES Project in June 2026.

Over the course of three sessions in June, thirteen residents of the Blue Hill Ave corridor neighborhoods became the first Community Data Observers of the Common SENSES Project, a partnership between BARI, the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative, Project RIGHT, and the City of Boston’s Office of Innovation & Technology. The Data Observers will communicate data from the 74 heat, noise, and air quality sensors located along the corridor in Roxbury and Dorchester to civic associations, local businesses, and neighbors, driving awareness of environmental hazards in the area and the co-creation of solutions to address them.
