Gahye Song
Visiting Lecturer in Korean
Gahye Song’s primary research interests lie in describing grammar use in naturally-occurring social interaction and incorporating these insights into second and foreign language grammar instruction. She is also interested in using conversation analysis, a method traditionally employed to study human-human interaction, to investigate human-machine interaction. She has taught at Columbia University, Baruch College-City University of New York, and the Defense Language Institute. She received her EdD and MA from Teachers College, Columbia University, and her BA from McGill University.
In her free time, Gahye enjoys reading sci-fi/fantasy (her favorite is J.R.R. Tolkien), reading about Tolkien’s constructed languages, and revisiting early K-pop songs from 2000s. Her current mission is to find Boston’s best bagel place.
