Galen Bunting
Postdoctoral Teaching Associate in English
Galen Bunting’s research examines shell-shock narratives and gendered diagnoses in Modernist literature and traces textual representations of masculinity and gender in the aftermath of the First World War. In his research, he centers those on the margins of gender and sexuality. During his master’s degree in English, which he received from Oklahoma State University, he conducted research on rural LGBT+ writers in the writing center. His academic interests include representations of disability, trauma, and gender in Modernist literature. He has contributed to the Women Writers Project, worked as an editorial assistant for Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society, and currently teaches at Northeastern University in the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department and in the English department. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in the Ploughshares blog, The Minnesota Review, and Praxis: A Writing Center Journal.
