The grant will support the opening of “OVERCASTE: Confront, Disrupt, Evolve,” in Oakland, California. OVERCASTE is an anti-caste exhibit that sparks public conversations about caste discrimination, complicity, and the possibilities for solidarity across lines of caste, gender, sexuality, and nation. The grant focuses on solidarities and supports my collaboration with Anita Lal, director of Poetic Justice Foundation, a Canadian organization dedicated to advancing South Asian social justice efforts and collective liberation.
The exhibition will open in Spring 2026 in Oakland.
