Graduates of Northeastern’s Ph.D. program, and Masters programs in both world history and public history have gone on to work in a range of academic programs and fields around the country.  

Graduates who have earned a Ph.D. are currently teaching and conducting research at various institutions, including Oberlin College, Delaware State University, the National University of Singapore, Bowling Green State University, and Harvard University. Graduates who have earned a Masters Degree in public history are employed as editors at Harvard University Press, Bedford/St Martin’s Publishing, and Houghton-Mifflin; as museum curators at the JFK Library, the Indiana Historical Society, and the Texas State Library; and as researchers at the New England Historic and Genealogical Society and the Adams National Historic Site. The diversity of these positions, as well as their prestige, speaks to the quality of graduate education at Northeastern University.   • Tom LaRose (MA ’23) has accepted a full-time position at the USS Constitution Museum (USSCM) as a Development Assistant
  • Alyssa Machajewski (MA ’23) is now working as a Podcast Producer at the Massachusetts Historical Society and as a Park Ranger at the Longfellow House in Camrbidge, writing leading tours for visitors
  • Zobeida Chaffee-Valdes (MA ’23) will be starting a full-time Research position at the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEGHGS)
  • Morgan Richards (MA ’23) will be part of a summer graduate internship program at the Smithsonian Archives of American Art. For ten weeks, she will work as an Oral History Podcast Intern within the larger Oral History Management cohort
  • Molly Nebiolo (PhD ’23) has accepted a job as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at Butler University in Indianapolis
  • Aaron Peterka (PhD ’23) will be serving as the interim director of the World History Association as of summer 2023
  •  Hunter Moyler (MA ’22) has accepted a full-time position as a Research Assistant at the BU Center for Anti-Racism
  • Clare Nelson (MA ’22) recently accepted a position as Exhibit Developer at the Connecticut Historical Society
  • Abby Mullen (PhD ’17) accepted a TT Professorship at the US Naval Academy in Fall 2022
  • Cassie Cloutier (MA ’18) accepted a posiiton as the Massachusetts Historical Society’s Research Coordinator in Fall 2022
  •  Matt Bowser (PhD ’21) accepted a tenure-track position in Asian/World History at Alabama A&M University, an HBCU in Huntsville, Alabama
  • Thanasis Kinias (PhD ’21) now holds a tenure-track position in European History at Western Colorado University
  •  Jamie Parker (PhD ’20) finished a two-year postdoc at the University of Virginia and just accepted a tenure-track position in European History at Texas Woman’s University, in Denton, Texas
  • Sana Tannoury-Karam (PhD ’19) is now a Visiting Fellow at the Center of Lebanese Studies, University of Cambridge
