Employer: The Grow Clinic at Boston Medical Center
The Grow Clinic is an outpatient center within Boston Medical Center that provides a diverse population of patients with teams of pediatricians, nutritionists, social workers, and outreach workers. As a Program Assistant, Sara Flynn helped manage appointments and services, interacting with patients and their families through medical appointments and home visits.
At the Grow Clinic, Flynn was able to reflect and communicate challenges with her team, advocating for herself and her goals. She was able to raise $7,500 in her Thanksgiving Voucher program, impacting 157 families. Flynn also curated an informational resource guides for topics including immigration, depression, bullying, and more. Next semester she will serve as a Medical Advocacy Intern at the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, continuing to explore the medical field.
