In her Public Works article, Hillary Chute (Distinguished Professor of English and Art + Design) looks at a variety of COVID-19 related comics, specifically ones from the Rescue Party Series. The Rescue Party Series was initiated by the Desert Island bookstore in an effort to ask people to visualize their ideal, utopian future after the pandemic. The series evolved into a global collaboration between artists as they all attempted to visualize a world after COVID-19. Chute looks at how these comics create visualizations of the imaginary and of what each person wants.
