Break the Game: Documentary Screening and Filmmaker Q&A

Join Northeastern’s Center for Communication, Media Innovation and Social Change and the LGBTQA Resource Center for a film screening of Break the Game. This documentary follows Narcissa Wright, a world-record-holding gamer who loses her fanbase after coming out as a transgender woman and attempts to win them back by setting a new record in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Break the Game, which draws from an archive of over 3,000 hours of Wright’s livestreams, “is a moving exploration of gamer culture, the realities of online harassment, and the mental health implications of living a digital life.”

Afternoon snacks and beverages will be served, and there will be a post-screening discussion with filmmaker Jane Wagner that will be moderated by Professor Michael Ann Devito.

Reserve tickets to the event, which is free, here.
