A group of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies professors from Smith College, Case Western Reserve University, College of Wooster, and University of Albany have written an open letter to university leaders about the existential threats to interdisciplinary programs, including women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Carrie N. Baker, Michele Tracy Berger, Christa Craven, and Janell Hobson published their letter on msmagazine.com urging presidents, provosts, and other upper-level university administration to speak out and act to defend the future of higher education and programs that “challenge ideologies, systems of privilege, and structures that oppress or exploit some for the advantage of others”. The letter’s authors ask leaders across the board what they want their legacy to be. Read the full letter here.
