Jeremy Sorgen
Assistant Research Professor and Provost Impact Fellow
Dr. Sorgen’s research interests include Tribal authority in environmental policy and land use decision making, land sovereignty and stewardship, environmental ethics, and environmental justice. He uses qualitative, community-engaged, and philosophy of science methods to strengthen Tribal leadership over environmental management and Tribal-state relationships. His recent projects focus on Tribal cultural resource management in California, intergenerational storytelling, culturally-grounded environmental remediation, and Tribal sovereignty in emerging industries.
Patrice Williams
Assistant Professor of Participatory Action Research and Provost Impact Fellow
Dr. Williams’ research examines the influence of structural and social determinants on health inequities, using quantitative, qualitative, and geospatial methods. Her general research interest is to understand how the social and physical environment contribute to health disparities and inequities among people of color. Currently, she is exploring the social and health implications of the pressure of residential displacement on Black residents in Southwest Atlanta.
