Notes about the personal statement and writing sample:
The personal statement is a brief description of your background, your interests, prior teaching/tutoring experience, and your reasons for wanting to enroll in the graduate program. Personal statements for MA applicants should not exceed two pages. PhD applicants should include their research interests, not to exceed three pages.
The writing sample should be academically based and 2,500 – 8,000 words in length.
