Thank you for your interest in the CIAWC’s Global Spotlight Project program.

Each year, the Center will feature a Global Spotlight Project. Applications should be for projects that are nearing publication, dissemination, or grant proposals. The Center will co-host a workshop for the Project and provide publicity and outreach. All spotlight project leaders will meet with the research development team in CSSH and NURes at the provost level to explore ongoing research after the spotlight year.

Space Diplomacy: (2022-23) workshop held to bring together interested parties with the intention of creating an edited journal volume. The workshop was so successful it was followed by another.

The Global Spotlight Project will be funded up to $8,000. The Center will provide administrative support and space for the project’s workshop/event. The primary convener, and lead name on the application, must be a full-time faculty member in CSSH; the convener need not hold tenure or be on a tenure track. Outside participants may be invited to attend. We strongly encourage applications that have co-sponsorship from other institutions, centers, or departments. We anticipate that funds will be used to convene participants in Boston, and may include meals, dissemination of materials, travel, lodging, equipment.

Applications for the 2024-25 Global Spotlight Project are due January 31, 2024.
