Aziza Ahmed on Amy Coney Barrett

Professor of Law and member of the WGSS Executive Committee Aziza Ahmed spoke to Law360 about the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and how it could impact reproductive rights.

“The best indicator of how a judge will rule in the future is how they’ve ruled in a majority opinion or in a dissent.”

Aziza Ahmed

Ahmed says that a judge’s history in rulings is the best way to predict future rulings. She goes on to say, “[Amy Coney Barrett] She has articulated a position that is against Roe and against being pro-choice. They are warning signs that she will rule that way as a Supreme Court justice.”

You can read much more in the Law360 article about specific ways a Justice Barrett would impact the landscape of reproductive rights.
