Two-Book PPE Event: Unveiling The Color Line by Lisa McLeod and The Miracle of the Black Leg by Patricia Williams

Join the Philosophy and Religion department for an event celebrating the launch of two books, recently authored by Northeastern professors, that address race in the United States. Lunch will be provided!

In Unveiling The Color Line, Professor Lisa McLeod discusses W. E. B. Du Bois’s “conception of whiteness, and the racism inherent to it, as an all-encompassing problem.” McLeod investigates Du Bois’s thinking and places his insights into the framework of contemporary racial theory in order to demonstrate his value to modern-day activism.

In The Miracle of the Black Leg: Notes on Race, Human Bodies, and the Spirit of Law, Professor and WGSS executive committee member Patricia Williams discusses the intersection of bioethics, critical race theory, culture, Supreme Court decisions, and more.
