Dr. Lorick-Wilmot Wins Gloria E. Anzaldúa Award

We are thrilled to share that Dr. Yndia Lorick-Wilmot, Postdoctoral fellow at the John D. O’Bryant African-American Institute and courtesy affiliate to the Africana Studies Program, has been awarded the Gloria E. Anzaldúa Award for Independent Scholars, Contingent or Community College Faculty by the American Studies Association’s Committee on Gender and Sexuality.

Dr. Lorick-Wilmot was selected for her original writing and media samples, especially her activist and academic response to the uprisings as well as her special B2B YouTube releases (find our previous story on this project here).

The Africana Studies Program sends their warm congratulations to Dr. Lorick-Wilmot for this monumental achievement.
