What is High School Visiting Day?

An opportunity for high school students who are taking ASL classes to experience Northeastern University’s ASL & Interpreting Education Program. Students will immerse themselves in a day full of ASL. Students and Faculty will have the opportunity to engage with ASL programs all over the Northeast region. This event is completely free.

FAQs

– This event is for juniors and seniors who are studying ASL. We recommend your students be ASL level 3.

– 1 adult/teacher/chaperone for every 10 students

The Third-Party forms – your chosen representative from the school should sign the third-party form agreeing that you are sending accompanying, responsible adults (vetted by the school system with CORI and mandatory reporter training)
Proof of Insurance from the school (this is standard that notes the school is insured and covers students even in off-site activities)
Parental permission/waivers signed

Transportation

Bus/van parking is available near the location of the event – on Forsythe Street. Please confirm the bus/van numbers and type.

If you are joining us via public transportation; take the Orange Line to Ruggles Station or the Green Line to the Northeastern University stop.

Food

Please have your students or the school bring their own lunch boxes. We will only provide snacks and water.
