Workshop/Course Description:
NIC Sessions:
Knock Out the NIC: CASLI Knowledge and Ethics: Unsure of what the CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exam and Ethical Case Studies exam entails? Confused about what to study and worried about prepping with the wrong materials? Join us to gain clarity about what to expect when taking the CASLI Knowledge & Ethics exams. You will experience a clear walk-through of the CASLI sample exams geared to help you enjoy a smooth journey to certification.
Knockout the CASLI Performance is an intensive workshop designed for aspiring and working interpreters seeking certification. The workshop is founded on the principle that certification is not merely a credential to obtain but a personal and professional development journey. Through comprehensive slides, interactive discussions, and practical exercises, participants will discuss personal growth, interpreting strategies, scoring insights, and personal care approaches throughout the testing process. By the workshop’s conclusion, attendees will have the information and mindset essential for success in their certification journey.
Dynamic Voicing: Improve your voicing skills and confidence! Participants in this workshop will examine various techniques for elevating their English interpretations to be more dynamic and polished. We will discuss how to analyze a message, and explore linguistic register and prosody, as well as learning strategies for incorporating these features to create a more accurate and effective English interpretation. This workshop is highly interactive, with lots of opportunities for practice, and activities to take home for continued skill development.
