The Center for Atypical Language Interpreting and Vancro Integrated Interpreting Services: Expanding Impact

CALI’s 12-month intensive program prepares interpreters to work effectively with Deaf and DeafBlind individuals who use atypical language. In partnership with Vancro Integrated Interpreting Services, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business led by interpreters and Deaf professionals, interpreters from multiple states completed the program.

According to Senior Vice President Cory Brunner, graduates report increased confidence, are more frequently requested by consumers, and accept a wider range of assignments across a variety of settings and language needs. Most importantly, communities served by CALI-trained interpreters are experiencing improved access, demonstrating the program’s meaningful impact.
