2026 Open Classroom

“Dukakis: Recipe for Democracy”

In Fall 2026, Open Classroom will return with a special inaugural event consisting of a documentary film screening and interactive panel discussion, co-sponsored with the Policy School as part of its 20th anniversary celebration.

The event will begin with an advance screening of the documentary “Dukakis: Recipe for Democracy” on former Massachusetts governor and Northeastern professor Michael Dukakis’s commitment to public service.

Following the screening, Dukakis Center Director Alicia Modestino will moderate a panel discussion and Q&A with invited guests including the filmmakers, teachers, and students.

Attendees will then join small-group conversations that will bring together policymakers, practitioners, community members, and researchers to explore how individuals dedicated to public service can make meaningful progress during these politically polarizing times.
