    Join a Movement for Food, Land, and Environmental Justice

    Everett Community Growers (ECG) is seeking a passionate, equity-centered Director of Programs to lead our community-rooted initiatives in food justice, urban agriculture, and environmental equity. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of an organization deeply committed to transformative work at the intersection of racial, economic, environmental, and language justice.

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Strategy & Execution

    • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrated programs aligned with ECG’s mission and community priorities.
    • Ensure programs are designed with evidence-based practices and community-based participatory methods (e.g., participatory action research, popular education).
    • Oversee ongoing program evaluation and learning systems to track progress and impact; make strategic adjustments as needed.

    Team Leadership & Culture Building

    • Supervise and support Program Managers; provide coaching, mentorship, and growth opportunities.
    • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and joyful work culture rooted in justice, equity, and accountability.
    • Cultivate relationships with team members to understand and support their needs, leadership goals, and well-being; prioritize comprehensive wellness, including mental health, work-life integration, and stress management.
    • Facilitate strong communication practices, conflict resolution processes, and team-building efforts across the organization.

    Operations & Financial Oversight

    • Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Program Managers to develop and manage program budgets and resource allocation.
    • Monitor program expenditures, ensure compliance with grant requirements, and steward resources with care.
    • Support the Development Coordinator in preparing grant proposals, reports, and communications that reflect program goals and outcomes.

    Community Engagement & Partnerships

    • Support efforts to deepen ECG’s community engagement through coalition-building, advocacy, and participatory models of governance and research.
    • Develop and sustain meaningful partnerships with community members, allies, institutions, and funders.
    • Facilitate ongoing learning and implementation of equity and anti-oppression principles internally and externally.
    • Center language justice and accessibility, embracing the intersecting identities and needs of the team and community.

    Organizational Development

    • Contribute to the development of organizational systems that support program quality, staff sustainability, and community impact.
    • Help institutionalize equitable HR and operational practices alongside other senior leaders.
    • Ensure alignment with regulatory and legal standards while modeling culturally informed, people-centered leadership.

    What We’re Looking For

    You Bring:

    • A deep, personal commitment to environmental, racial, economic, and language justice.
    • 5+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit program management or community-based work.
    • A proven ability to supervise and develop high-functioning, diverse teams with empathy and clarity.
    • Experience designing and managing programs that center community leadership and address systems of oppression.
    • Adaptability and openness to change, recognizing that this is a new role and responsibilities may evolve as we learn what works best.
    • Skills in budget management, grant reporting, and systems implementation.
    • Strong facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Familiarity with community-based participatory methods, community organizing, and equity-centered evaluation.
    • Strong technical skills and experience working with remote teams using tools such as Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and Asana.
    • Fluency in English and another major language of Everett (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole) is highly desired.
