Neema Avashia, an Ethnic Studies Coach at Boston Public Schools will be giving a book talk called “Amplifying “Anotherness” Disputing Dominant Narratives About Appalachia”, hosted by CSSH’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology and Department of Philosophy and Religion. She’ll be talking about queerness, rurality, and challenging narratives—all based on her memoir about growing up in Appalachia.
