Financial Information
Current tuition and fee rates for our Master of Arts in English program are available on the Student Financial Services website. These rates are subject to revision by the University’s Board of Trustees. Tuition is charged by the semester hour (SH); our M.A. curriculum consists of 32 SH in total (34 if pursuing an optional co-op).
Qualified full-time M.A. applicants may be nominated for tuition scholarships during the review of applications to the program. No separate application is needed to be considered for these awards – automatic consideration will be given following application submission and completion.
Student Financial Services oversees federal financial aid and alternative educational loan programs. Students applying for financial assistance are encouraged to complete financial aid applications at the same time as they apply for admission or by the priority date of March 1.
Students in our M.A. program are not offered stipends or teaching. However, admitted students may apply for positions in the Writing Center, NULab, the 826 Boston Writers’ Room, ongoing faculty research projects, and other digital humanities initiatives. Students may also search and apply for open positions through the Student Employment portal, and students are encouraged to pursue paid co-op positions.
