On April 11th, BARI Conference 2025: Greater Boston’s Annual Insight-to-Impact Summit was held at Roxbury Community College in partnership with its Center for Economic and Social Justice. The day kicked off with a dynamic keynote panel of changemakers, including Director of the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy at Northeastern Ted Landsmark, that explored the relationship between advocates and the worlds of research, data, and design. Over 400 members of the civic research community, from tenth graders at nearby Boston Latin Academy to PhDs from area universities and local activists and civil servants from around the region, gathered to engage in action-oriented discussions based on a wide array of research projects. Panels’ topics ranged from public health to environmental justice to zoning and addressed challenges such as how to ensure authentic collaboration across sectors. It was a truly special day that focused on joyfully highlighting the power and promise of work that leverages data, technology, and design with and for the diverse communities of Greater Boston.
