Presenting Philanthropic Models at NASPAA

Rebecca Riccio, founder and Juffali Family Director of Northeastern’s Social Impact Lab (SIL), will present the Global Philanthropy Initiative, modeled after SIL’s successful undergraduate experiential philanthropy program in Boston, at NASPAA’s 2025 Regional Conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
She has worked with Saudi faculty members to successfully adapt to Saudi legal, cultural, and educational contexts practices she had developed in collaboration with Doris Buffett’s Learning by Giving Foundation. More than 20,000 students around the world have participated in U.S. and international nonprofit programs developed or co-created by SIL.
Riccio was also recently appointed to the editorial advisory council of Alliance magazine, a leading industry publication on global philanthropic practice and social investment. The council draws on leading philanthropy practitioners’ subject expertise and place-based knowledge to foster global peer exchange, dialogue, and awareness of philanthropic activity worldwide.
