The brochure cover for the 2024 GAP workshop.

The 2024 GAP Workshop organized by the Global Action for Policy (GAP) Initiative, founded by Professors Silvia Prina and Nishith Prakash, convened researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders on March 8-9, 2024. The two-day workshop, titled “The Missing Link between Evidence-Based Research and Policy Implementation,” showcased evidence-based research, highlighted challenges in economic development, and discussed barriers encountered by policymakers when scaling up evidence-based policies.

Keynote speakers included Joshua Angrist, Ford Professor of Economics at MIT and recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics in 2021; Dean Karlan, Professor of Economics and Finance at Northwestern University and Chief Economist at USAID; and Michael Kremer, University Professor in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics and Nobel Memorial Prize laureate in Economics in 2019. Their insights enriched discussions on bridging the gap between research findings and effective policy implementation, offering valuable perspectives to all attendees.
