Conversation with Mai’a Cross: Meetings with WorldBoston

Director Mai’a Cross and Professor Julie Garey met with delegates of WorldBoston in an analysis of U.S. foreign policy, as well as national security strategy, specifically regarding the United States’ role in NATO. The group consisted of 20 visitors and 4 liaisons, on an IVLP project titled “U.S. Foreign Policy – Global Challenges.”

The program objectives for this project included: 

  • Discuss foreign policy issues of concern to Europe and the United States, including counterterrorism and security, transatlantic relations, the changing roles of international organizations such as NATO and the United Nations, the war against Ukraine,  trans-boundary environmental policy issues, and global trade trends which frame positions in U.S. foreign policy; and
  • Expose participants to the various players in U.S. foreign policy formulation and to a range of policy views in the public and private sectors.
