Benjamin Levinson
Technically Not a Refugee: U.S. Policy Leadership on Emerging Climate Migration Issues
Benjamin Levinson is an undergraduate student at Northeastern University from Sharon, Massachusetts, pursuing a B.A. in International Affairs and Environmental Studies and a minor in Emerging Markets. His career interests lie at the intersection of advancing the clean energy transition and pursuing meaningful climate action from the local, national, and global levels. Having studied abroad in Italy, Switzerland, and Denmark, with an upcoming experience in Brazil this summer, Ben leverages his cross-cultural literacy to approach environmental issues with the grounded, globally informed perspective that meaningful climate action demands. His professional experiences include several successful co-ops and internships across the energy industry, working within a power utility company, a Massachusetts state clean energy agency, and a global energy research and consulting firm. Coupled with his engagement with international bodies like the United Nations – as a visiting student researcher at the UN Office in Geneva and a youth delegate at the ECOSOC forum – these opportunities have equipped Ben with the skills and perspective needed to drive meaningful collective action on climate change in his career.
