Professor John Kwoka spoke on October 19 at the ICN conference in Barcelona, a global platform for competition agencies and experts. His presentation, titled “The Use and Limitations of Natural Experiments in Merger Analysis,” explored the practical implications of natural experiments in merger analysis. John appeared as a Non-Governmental Advisor to Mauritius.

IBRAC Webinar: “The U.S. Draft Merger Guidelines: What’s at Stake?”

On October 24, Professor Kwoka was the featured speaker at a webinar organized by IBRAC, the Brazilian competition advocacy organization. The webinar, “The U.S. Draft Merger Guidelines: What’s at Stake?” provided insights into the new merger guidelines in the United States, which Professor Kwoka contributed to during his time as the chief economic advisor to Chair Lina Khan of the Federal Trade Commission.

On November 6, Professor Kwoka gave a presentation at Ofcom, the UK telecommunications regulatory agency on consummated mergers with a focus on breaking up dominant firms.
