Mitchell A. Orenstein, Professor of Russian and East European Studies, University of Pennsylvania
Mitchell A. Orenstein is Professor of Russian and East European Studies at University of Pennsylvania and Senior Fellow at Foreign Policy Research Institute. His sole-authored and co-authored works on the political economy and international affairs of Central and Eastern Europe have won numerous prizes. Orenstein is the author of The Lands in Between: Russia vs. The West and the New Politics of Hybrid War (Oxford University Press, 2019), a study of how intensifying geopolitical conflict has shaped politics in the lands in between Russia and the West, which is being published in a revised paperback edition in 2024.
Kellee Tsai, Distinguished Professor of Political Science; Dean, College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Northeastern University
Kellee Tsai, PhD, became Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities on February 26, 2024. Previously, she was dean at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where she led the AI Ethics and Governance Lab. She also spent thirteen years at Johns Hopkins University as a Professor of Political Science and Vice Dean.
An international board member of the Asia Research Institute and the India-China Institute, her research focuses on China’s political economy, including party-state capitalism and reverse migration impacts. She holds a BA from Barnard College, a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University, and a PhD in Political Science from Columbia

Mai’a K. Davis Cross, Director of the Center for International Affairs and World Cultures; Dean’s Professor of Political Science, International Affairs, and Diplomacy, Northeastern University
Mai’a K. Davis Cross is the Dean’s Professor of Political Science, International Affairs, and Diplomacy and Director of the Center for International Affairs and World Cultures at Northeastern University. She is an expert on European and transatlantic relations, with a focus on foreign and security policy, diplomacy, soft/smart power, and space policy. She has published eight books and special journal issues, including most recently International Cooperation Against All Odds: The Ultrasocial World (Oxford University Press, 2024). She holds a PhD in Politics from Princeton University, and AB in Government from Harvard University. She is a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
