Minor in French
Bienvenue à Northeastern University
French is one of the most important languages in the world: it is spoken by over 300 million people worldwide, spanning from Paris to Montréal to Dakar to Tahiti. It is also an official language of the United Nations, the European Union, NATO, the World Trade Organization and many other associations throughout the world. Learning French gives you the opportunity to create lifelong connections to French speakers and to acquire insights into their cultures that are accessible only through speaking their language and becoming a member of their community.
By studying French at Northeastern, you can fulfill the University’s language requirement, study abroad (in France or other Francophone countries), go on a Dialogue of Civilizations in France, or pursue an academic minor in French.
